Palm Desert Greens Country Club
Palm Desert Greens Country Club is located just east of Palm Springs, California. It is a senior, gated community with extraordinary recreational and social activities for single-family homeowners and winter vacationers. The first home was built in 1971 and today the community incorporates over 1900 homes.
Unlike many communities, home owners actually own both their homes and the “Land” upon which they stand. HOA fees are very low, currently $326 per month, which includes FREE Golf, Cable w/HBO, internet and WIFI, a guarded gate house, mobile security, refuse pickup and an internal TV Channel listing community activities and times.
Homeowner association business is administered by a seven-member board of directors. The board is elected by residents for two-year terms, except that the candidate with the highest number of votes receives a three-year term, which staggers the terms so that each year there are three vacancies. Each December, three board members are elected. Each lot has one vote regardless of the number of family members. The board of trustees is assisted by voluntary committees of association members and on-site management staff. Current standing committees are adult center/social activities, architectural review, communications, finance, food and beverage, golf, maintenance, recreation, and security.
Palm Desert Greens is adjacent to the town of Palm Desert which has a population of 23,000. The community is just ten miles from the Palm Springs Regional Airport. Highway lO is two miles from the development. Police protection is provided by the county sheriff's department. This community has a 24-hour patrol, and access is only through guarded gates. There is a staffed fire department nearby. Eisenhower Hospital, the nearest facility with emergency care, is two miles from the site.
There is a restaurant within the community. Within a half mile you will find a pharmacy, a dry cleaners, a hair salon, a grocery and liquor store and retail shops. Two miles away are a medical clinic and a movie theater.
